My Recorded Compact Disc: RELEASE INFO
My compact disc is mixed and mastered all nice. It has a title and track names and some art. I am shooting some photos this weekend with the dashingly handsome Josh Wallace for the cover and other artwork. I will be making the CD available for the first time the week of March 27th-31st when I am featuring on the road at at Courtney’s Comedy Club with Tommy Thompson. I will be printing a...

ALBUM UPDATE
My currently untitled LP/EP has been mixed and I think it does pretty much exactly what I want, in that it kind of dovetails the material I wrote pre stand-up with the new stuff I was working on leading up to the recording. The audience that showed up did so with the intention of laughing and having a good time and that comes through on the record. John Shea did a great job recording the thing and...

I AM COMING HOME! BLACK CAT NOV. 25TH.
All,
I am featuring for my friend, headliner Mark Poolos, at the Black Cat on Friday, November 25th. There is a chance that many of you TRF people on the internet will be back for the Holidays. If so, I suggest you come out to the the show. Last time I was in town, everyone seemed to have a grand ‘ol time and as many of you know, Mark Poolos is no stranger to the area and he’s a very...

I'm Looking for Feature Work November/December and...
I am looking for feature work for November/December and on. I am going through the standard channels as well, but having not worked for many the usual booking suspects yet I am putting out this call to any of my friends that are closing down rooms! Put me in coaches, I am ready to drive long distances for not so much money. Also, if it helps, I’m funny. Direct Message or email me at...

My Funny Co-Worker
Sometimes my co-workers are freAKING hilarious. I was talking with my boss about horror movies, like I do at my awesome job, and I said, “they kind of slipped up on the Freddy Krueger redesign,” and one of my other co-workers, who is not a professional comedian chimed in and said, “Did they give him corn rows.” I ALMOST FUCKING PUKED SHIT it was so funny. Comedy is...

I love this band…it is rad to see them play with live drums.
Body Image and the Media
I think the media certainly affects the perception of self body image among men and women. Right now however, I would hate to be a women feeling the pressure of the media. I mean, is the media trying to make women feel like they need to kill their babies to become moderately attractive thoroughly uninteresting women who get down in a care-free manner at nightclubs?
Chris Hansen is a Jerk not a Sexual Predator.
Hey everyone, Chris Hansen getting busted cheating on his wife is NOT the same as him busting would-be sexual predators. Huff-Po wrote up this story and they made sure to mention that the woman he cheated with was 21 years his junior (but still, she is an adult and a journalist), and the story proceeded to describe “to catch a predator” as “featur[ing] Hansen and an advocacy...

The Kamikaze Snowmen Succeed (AGAIN!)
The Kamikaze Snowmen have shown us all once again why they are the most innovative comedy act in the Red River Valley. I participated in a show last night at the Red Raven called “The Kamikaze Snowmen Explain the Universe and Other Things” and it was a HILARIOUS time for all. The Kamikaze Snowmen reminded us “Hey, we not only write funny fucking songs, but we can also perform...

My First Comedy Setlist
So, I have been going through the files on my computer and reviving some old writing projects and I came accross this set list from the first real comedy set I did in 2006. Even thought it went alright, I didn’t perform again until 2009, and now stand-up is something I am very serious about. I figured I would post it here. I find it funny that I still do a couple of these bits in a different...
Updated my Twitter User Name, ETC!!!!
All,
So, just a couple of things. A big thanks to JD Provorse and Jade Presents for getting me on those Jeffrey Ross shows. The audiences were great, Jeffrey was a fucking blast. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple of nights of shows. Also, big thanks to Chris and Diane for coming to the show and letting me crash at their pad.
Also, I changed my twitter user name from...

Courtney's this weekend and Watertown and Beyond.
All,
We have a very special weekend coming up at Courtney’s Comedy Club. Special in that two of the best comics in Minneapolis (meaning a couple of the best in general pretty much) will be performing five shows at the club. The first show is tonight (Thursday) at 8pm (it’s also open mic night, so if you show up before the open mic starts it’s five bucks, or if you have a college...
A Week Later
So, the 222 Comedy Boom was a smashing success! Thanks again to all who were involved. I am looking to secure another date in May so we can have another go at it with a different lineup! The cost of the show will likely go up to 5 bucks, but other than that all the details will remain the same (save for the cast of comedy characters who will serve you up the hysterics for the evening).
I have...

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
People that Read My Blog,
As both you know, I was out of town last week telling comedy jokes on the road. You have probably been eagerly waiting for tales of triumph and strife as I struggled through the middle-west to make a name for myself as the plucky MC that could!
Well, there was not much strife. It was great hanging out with the comics at Maddock’s triple rock show. I had seemingly...

I DIRECTED A THING!
Hi Everyone,
So, as the title of this post suggests, I directed a thing. That thing, of course, is the (official) video for the song “Conspiracy” from my favorite comedy band of all time, The Kamikaze Snowmen. I have wanted to work with the snowmen on something for a long time. We took a simple idea and shot for an afternoon and then Josh turned it into a well edited colorful piece of...
REJECTION!!! and A LIST!
Hi All,
I rarely submit content to places, but when I do it is typically rejected except for that time that it wasn’t…two years ago. However now, I have an insignificant little space in the blogosphere where I can post this. The first line of the list is from Josh Trumbo, big ups.

TWENTY-ELEVEN: NO RESOLUTIONS (or, one pseudo...
Happy New Year everyone. I don’t have any resolutions for 2011, I am just going to try to stay focused on my creative goals while being a bit more proactive about my health (finding a regular physician and a dentist I trust and all that). I guess the closest thing I have to a resolution is to continue becoming an adult man-person. I know you were curious.
As for 2010. It was both a blast...

TRUE GRIT
I can’t express enough how much I endorse this movie. Go see it. The Coen Brothers knocked it out. It has a beautiful look, pitch perfect score, and character performances that just crush. I laughed harder than I have at any “comedy” in the last year. That said the film is also highly dramatic and tense. Hailee Steinfeld should certainly get a bunch of recognition from various...
Fuckin' Deja Vu and Shows this Weekend
Yeah, so…just passed through some pretty debilitating deja vu, getting my bearings!
Anyway, I am, for the most part, healthy again, going out to the Red Raven tonight to tell some jokes and check out the new location.
The Courtney’s Open Mic will be going off this Thursday, as usual sign up by 6:30, show at 7 bells.
Also, LAUGH.ROCK.REPEAT is coming up this Saturday. It’s five...
Waking up is hard to do...and WWII era military...
So,
I am desperately trying to get myself back in the habit of waking up early. The end goal is to wake up around 5:30-5:45am, get shower, make some coffee, eat some cereal and then write something, anything, even if it’s just a blog post, but hopefully work on something more substantial and then head off to the day job.
I am building to this in phases. yesterday, I got up at 5:45 and I...
Some Cool Shit
I will be the MC at Courtney’s tonight for the Dave Coulier shows at 8:00pm and 10:30 pm, drop my name on the 10:30 and you get in for 10 bucks.
I booked a spot in the not too distant future on the Hit or Miss show at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy in the Mall of America.
Finally, I booked a week of MC spots at the Skyline Comedy Cafe in Appleton Wisconsin for January 19th-22nd....
In Case You Forgot, I Write Scripts.
Hi Everyone,
I know that everyone and their mother has a screenplay, in fact, many people’s mothers probably have development deals…anyway, I am just writing this blog post to remind all of my facebook friends (as well as any friends that they know who might need some sort of script or otherwise typed up bits of things for people to say and or do) that I do indeed write scripts. I...
F*CKING ROBOTS!!!
Alright,
I was listening to NPR this morning, and they were running a story on the Kinect, the new XBOX 360 peripheral that turns the people playing into the controllers for the game. The person they were interviewing (the story has not yet been posted online) said (after saying there could eventually be military applications for this tech), “it’s valuable for your computer to know...

Haven't Tumbled in a while
All,
Well, this last weekend at Courtney’s was a great time working with Roy Haber and Nat Baimel. Two very cool dudes who were hilarious and supportive. Good audiences, and very few super drunk pieces of crap. All in all, a success. This week holds another ball of gooey comedy goodness for me as well. Beyond the typically awesome time that is the Red Raven open mic, I am traveling with JD...
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday
All,
So, it’s been about a year since I got serious about doing stand-up and I am sticking with it and I see no signs of slowing down. I have gotten on stage as many times as possible in the last year, I have met many great and funny people and I have had some opportunities that typically don’t happen for someone who is still brand new, like me. Tomorrow is another one of those...
COMEDY NEWS
So, there are a few things going on in my comedy world right now. I will list them chronologically.
1. Tomorrow I will be at Vally City at Theatre 320 for a comedy cafe. It starts at 7:30 pm and is free with student ID. I think they mean a Valley City Student ID but come sneak in and watch me open for Bengt Washburn (he’s hilarious), Will SpottedBear is the MC (also hilarious)
2. I am...

Log Cabin Republican, a Picture of Incongruency
LOG CABIN REPUBLICAN: Hmmm, Republicans…well, I agree with their economic policies which support a healthy capitalist system which operates on consumer’s understanding their own personal responsibilities with little to no interference by the federal government, but I disagree with their belief that I should be demonized and have fewer rights than non-homosexuals…Also many...

AHHAAHHHH!!! This is how the world is supposed to work!!! Godspeed, Nick!
Thanks F/M Open Mic Scene
I just realized that I have done over 100 sets since I got somewhat serious about this “comedy” in December ‘09. I am not saying this because it is a big deal for me, because it isn’t. It should be 250-300 sets and I’m lazy and I need to move to a big city to dedicate myself to this completely. However, these 100+ sets say a lot about how the comedy community has...
